Telmatherina Ladigesi Biography

The celebes rainbowfish (Telmatherina Ladigesi) is a species of sailfin silverside endemic to Indonesia. It is the only known member of its genus.Males grow to 6-8cm, and females to 5-7cm in length. Their bodies are slender and almost fully transparent with a blue stripe along the sideline. The sexes can be easily distinguished, since males have elongated black dorsal and ventral fins, and are usually a little darker than females.

The Bedotia geayi, is a species of Madagascar rainbowfish endemic to Madagascar. Its natural habitatis rivers. It is threatened by habitat loss.Bedotia Geayi, species are all under 10 centimetres (4 in) SL, extremely colorful, elongate, and somewhat laterally compressed atherinoid fishes that exhibit varying degrees of sexual dimorphism.Except for coloration and pigmentation, Bedotia are morphologically conservative fishes.All Bedotia are sexually dimorphic, with males exhibiting larger adult size, enhanced coloration and pigmentation, as well as pronounced development of the unpaired fins.

This species is native to the Congo Basin of Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of the Congo. This species grows to a length of 55 centimetres (22 in) TL.

The Mochokidae are a family of catfishes (order Siluriformes) that are known as the squeakers and upside-down catfish. There are nine genera and about 200 species of mochokids. All the mochokids are freshwater species originating from Africa.They have three pairs of barbels, with the nasal barbels absent; sometimes, the mandibular barbels may be branched. The lips are be modified into a suckermouth in AtopochilusChiloglanis, and Euchilichthys. The adipose fin is usually very long. The dorsal andpectoral fins have spines that are usually strong and with a locking mechanism. They range in size up to 72 centimetres (28 in)SL. This groups contains many popular species among aquarists, such as Synodontis nigriventrisSynodontis angelicus andSynodontis multipunctatus.
